Her photographic work in the Future African Visions In Time (FAVT) Exhibition entitled ‘The Afrofuturist Village’ aimed to navigate an alternative future for Africans in afrofuturism. Elements of language, cultural exchange and representation of the black body in afrofuturism are heavy themes in the work. The project, which ran in 2018 from the 21st of February to the 2nd of March spoke on diversity, equality and the politics of an intersectional afrofuture and was met with critical acclaim.

Masiyaleti is currently working on an MA in English Studies, her first novel, an array of short stories, poetry as well as expanding her photographic exhibition.
